Honeydew Health Ltd are looking for an experienced UX & Quality Manager

Fixed term:       19/02/2024 – mid-Jan 2025

Hours:              Part-time (0.6 FTE) 22.5 hours per week

Salary:              £21,000 – £30,000 per annum depending on experience

Place of work:   Hybrid remote / London

 

You’ll be joining a small but well-established software company and a fantastic team as a maternity cover. Your onboarding and handover will take place in person in Brighton over a 2-week period. Thereafter you’re asked to travel into London Liverpool Street 1-2 days per week to work together with the rest of the team. You can work from a place of your own choosing for the remainder of the time.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to gain exposure of various stages of the software design and development journey from end-to-end. You’ll be the in-house designer and go-to creative person as well as the scrupulous quality assurance supervisor ensuring that your designs are delivered into production according to your wireframes and exacting standards. You’ll work with a full-stack senior software engineer and a junior freelance developer as a seamless team. Your main responsibilities are listed below and may change from time to time dependent on the business needs.

Regularly

  • meet with clients to gather information about their requirements
  • meet with system users to understand the scope of projects
  • work collaboratively with software engineers, customer support and senior management
  • propose and sketch out a range of visual concepts both on paper and using your preferred design software e.g. Adobe XD or Figma
  • liaise with clients to ensure that designs meet their requirements and core business objectives
  • plan projects
  • monitor applications and software systems
  • carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing
  • run manual tests
  • test in different environments including web and mobile
  • write bug reports
  • carry out resource planning
  • review and write documentation
  • work towards departmental and project deadlines
  • provide quality assurance
  • be responsible for user acceptance testing and release management
  • provide objective feedback to software development project teams
  • troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • design tests to mitigate risk
  • present findings to software development and business user teams
  • work on multiple projects at one time
  • communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues
  • attend meetings to discuss and review progress on the project
  • identify business requirements
  • identify areas for improvement

From time to time

  • translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes and user flows
  • write blog articles or newsletters about new software features
  • write user journeys
  • prepare electronic or print materials using the Adobe creative suite
  • work on cross-platform applications to develop user experiences covering mobile phones, tablets and computers
  • redesign websites to make them more responsive

Occasionally

  • seek opportunities to conduct remote or on-site user research and usability testing with real users to ensure the end-product design provides users with the optimum experience in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and engagement
  • write reports and communicate the results of your work
  • keep up to date with technological innovations and new tools
