Portesbery School provides schooling and support for children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), sensory impairments, physical difficulties and challenging behaviour. The school is located in Surrey and has around 125 students places.
Portesbery School employs highly experienced staff who work to enhance pupils’ school experience and develop essential life skills. Together, they foster a safe, happy, fun and engaging environment in which all students are treated equally and fairly.

In 2017, after thorough research, Portesbery School decided to implement Honeydew’s Day-1 Absence Reporting. The implementation project was launched with the needs and requirements of the school at the forefront. Activities and milestones were mapped out in detail to ensure a smooth transition.

The Day-1 Absence Reporting service provides a 24/7 absence reporting line for Portesbery School staff to call when they are unable to attend work. Calls are answered by skilled and professional data administrators, who record the absence data in a central database “Engage”. Managers have real-time absence data that enables them to proactively manage employee absence.
